Mr. Brooks is a certified professional landscape and fine art photographer
with both the Professional Photographers of America, and the American
Society of Media Photographers. In 2003 and 2004, Mr. Brooks was recognized
for his outstanding work. Two of his images were published and exhibited
by the PPA as part of their prestigious Loan Collection.
Mr. Brooks has published two photography books, and is currently working
on a third. His first, Journey Across CHINA, illustrates a story of
those historically significant places that are disappearing due to
China’s modernization programs. Universities, travelers, and
parents of adopted Chinese children have enjoyed his photographic journey
illustrating and preserving visions of a disappearing culture.
A Guide to Cincinnati’s Historic Firehouses is Mr. Brooks’ second
book. His interest in photography and architecture come together in
this story of thirty historic firehouses that are continuing to serve
as businesses and homes for architects, lawyers, landscapers, and even
photographers. Mr. Brooks photographed many of them inside and out,
while adding historical photographs of the firehouses when they were
in their heyday. He also included text about the firehouses architects
and design. His book is not only part of the Cincinnati Fire Museum
Archive, but also the architectural archive at Mr. Frank Lloyd Wright’s
Taliesen School of Architecture.
Today, Mr. Brooks lives in Arizona. His current book project is Arizona’s
Amazing Landscape. This beautiful collection of dramatic light over
the countryside of Arizona is due to be published next year. For now,
many of Mr. Brooks’ clients enjoy decorating their homes and
offices with enlargements from his upcoming book.
